Connecting with Nature

On Monday 14th March 2024 Timebank members in Efford were joined by Jenny and Trudy of the Art & Energy Collective.

In their words “The ART and ENERGY Collective is an award-winning group of artists, tinkerers, researchers, scientists, and makers based in the South West.

We specialise in designing participatory arts projects which help people take creative steps towards a brighter greener future.

Working together to summon our creative powers and find new ways to tackle the climate emergency. Help us create, or donate towards our new mass participation artwork The Mossy Carpet”.

Members were interested in finding out more about the project and helping add something to the Mossy Carpet themselves. They made pom poms, learnt about the different types of moss and were introduced to the Tardigrade ( a near microscopic animal, otherwise called a Moss Pig, that lives within the moss!)

Linking in with citywide projects and being able to help where we can is a vital part of Timebanking. Sharing our skills and learning new things to share with others is what we are about after all.

Together, our work on the Mossy Carpet is helping make a magnificent and impactful piece of artwork which tours around Devon and the UK!

This is a great way to help people connect with nature and harness hope and action for a brighter greener future.
